The implementation of the project “Development, organisation, digitisation, documentation, management and promotion of the Alekos Fassianos archive”, currently underway at the Alekos Fassianos Museum, marks a significant step towards the preservation and promotion of contemporary Greek artistic production.

The Museum, which opened in 2023, is a contemporary cultural institution dedicated to the complete body of work of the iconic Greek artist, spanning his career from 1956 until the end of his life. The building, designed by architect Kyriakos Krokos in close collaboration with Fassianos himself, functions as a unified work of art, where architecture, handcrafted details and the artist’s distinctive visual language coexist organically.

The Museum’s permanent exhibition features paintings, collages, objects and a rich body of archival material, highlighting themes inspired by Athens, everyday life and Greek mythology. At the same time, the Museum is developing a dynamic programme of temporary exhibitions, educational activities and public events, further strengthening the connection between art and wider audiences

PostScriptum plays a central role in the implementation of the project, having undertaken the development and delivery of key services for the systematic management and promotion of the archival material. These activities include the cataloguing, archiving and digitisation of primary materials, as well as their scholarly documentation, with the aim of creating a comprehensive and reliable digital repository.

In parallel, a digital preservation strategy is being developed, alongside the implementation of a digital repository system through the MuseumPlus RIA platform, ensuring the long-term protection and accessibility of the material. Within this framework, digital educational applications are also being designed to enhance knowledge dissemination and enrich audience engagement, while crowdsourcing initiatives—such as contributions to Wikipedia—are being carried out

By leveraging new technologies for the organisation, preservation and promotion of cultural heritage, PostScriptum remains committed to its mission of accelerating the digital maturity of cultural organisations. In doing so, it helps ensure that contemporary art remains open, accessible and meaningfully connected to today’s audiences.

The project is funded by the Ministry of Digital Governance under the NSRF.

On Monday, 10 November 2025, at the well-attended “Ioannis Kapodistrias” Amphitheatre of the War Museum, the new digital, interactive exhibit titled “Evzones: A Living History – Uniforms and Symbols of Freedom” was successfully presented. This innovative project is a donation from the Civil Non-Profit Company Fermeli to the War Museum, implemented by the company PostScriptum thanks to the generous sponsorship of PeopleCert.

The exhibit has been integrated into the Museum’s permanent collection and is available to visitors on the first floor, right next to the exit of the exhibition area.

It consists of a state-of-the-art large interactive screen that allows users to explore the historical trajectory of the Evzone units and to discover the eight official uniforms of the Presidential Guard. Visitors can access fascinating information and rich multimedia material about the name, origin, construction materials, colours, and symbolism of each component of the uniforms, which have been meticulously and artistically designed by visual artist and graphic designer Kalypso Evdokidou.

The event opened with remarks by the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defence, Mr. Antonios Oikonomou, who emphasized that “the Evzones are a timeless point of reference for the Nation—symbols of pride, discipline, and bravery, keeping historical memory alive and inspiring younger generations.” Referring to the new exhibit, he noted that it represents “a modern approach to highlighting a glorious institution.”

This was followed by a greeting from the Chairman of the Board of the War Museum, Air Marshal (ret.) Mr. Konstantinos Karamesinis, who expressed his particular satisfaction with the collaboration between Fermeli and the teams involved. “The result,” he stressed, “honours our Museum and contributes substantially to making the history of the Evzones accessible, appealing, and comprehensible to the wider public. The synergy between the War Museum and private initiative is bearing fruit with a meaningful impact.”

Next, the President and CEO of PeopleCert, Mr. Byron Nicolaides, took the floor, speaking visibly moved. “For me,” he said, “this project is not just a sponsorship. It is a personal journey of memory. I remember myself as a child, seeing Evzones for the first time at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, just a few days after my arrival from Constantinople. That image has remained engraved within me. That is why I am especially proud that PeopleCert is contributing to a project that highlights such powerful symbols of our identity and history.”

The Founder and CEO of PostScriptum, Mr. Kostas Konstantinidis, in his own address, underscored the significance of the project and of his company’s collaboration with the War Museum. “PostScriptum has produced notable digital applications for the Museum in the past, but this particular project holds a special place for us,” he noted. “It is an example of how technology, when combined with well-founded historical research and a creative approach, can bring culture closer to the public. The collaboration between the cultural sector and the Armed Forces demonstrates that tradition can be showcased through modern means without losing its depth and gravity.”

Liza Penteroudaki – President of the Civil Non-Profit Company Fermeli, and Aris Katopodis – Academic Lead of the Project. Photos: Georgia Kanidou.

In the main part of the event, the President of the Civil Non-Profit Company Fermeli, Mrs. Liza Penteroudaki, spoke, referring to Fermeli’s strategic mission to preserve and highlight the country’s cultural heritage. “The Evzones,” she emphasized, “are not just a military unit but bearers of values, symbols, and ideals. With this new exhibit, we want to convey to the public—young and old, Greeks and foreigners alike—the significance of the Evzones’ presence, to safeguard memory, and to give younger generations a way to connect with history through the tools of today.”

The project’s academic lead, historian and researcher Mr. Aris Katopodis, then took the floor, offering a detailed presentation of the interactive exhibit’s functionality while also speaking about the deep historical and symbolic significance of the Evzone Corps. “The Evzones,” he noted, “are a living symbol of political independence, national dignity, and democracy. Every element of their uniform has its own history and symbolic purpose. The new exhibit allows us to narrate this story in a direct, clear, and engaging way.”

The event was moderated by author Elpida Minadaki, while the presentations were musically framed by pianist Mimi Roufougali and mezzo-soprano Stefania Pappa, creating a distinctive atmosphere that underscored the formal and commemorative character of the evening.

The event concluded with a reception, also offered by PeopleCert, giving attendees the opportunity to exchange impressions about the new exhibit and its significance.

The evening was crowned with complete success, affirming the creative dialogue between technology, culture, and historical memory. At the same time, it highlighted the vast possibilities that arise when the public and private sectors, cultural institutions, and the Armed Forces join forces. The new exhibit is a prime example of how modern digital technology can meet, support, and elevate traditional academic and historical research, transforming it into a living, accessible, and captivating experience for the public.

In this meeting of old and new—where the classic narratives of national history connect with contemporary storytelling media—new forms of presenting, understanding, and engaging with our cultural heritage emerge, pointing to a future filled with even more creative collaborations.

PSValueTalks (PSVT) 2025, the leading forum in Greece for culture and the cultural economy, organised by PostScriptum, took place, under the auspices of the Ministries of Culture, Economy and Finance, and Digital Governance, on Tuesday 11 November at the National Gallery. The Forum, featuring 2 thematic sections, 4 panels, 2 round tables and more than 60 speakers, attracted strong interest from representatives of the quadruple helix, spanning academia, the business community, government and civil society.

PSValueTalks 2025 successfully highlighted Greek entrepreneurial ventures centred on culture, while also focusing on the need to develop new, sustainable financing tools for cultural economy models. Emphasis was placed on public-private partnerships, the education and empowerment of stakeholders, support for smaller creative actors, as well as the adaptation of the institutional framework so that it effectively supports cultural entrepreneurship.

Discussions around Artificial Intelligence (AI) brought to the fore both the strong concerns and the justified ambivalence of creators, without overlooking the significant opportunities arising from new technologies. Key issues included intellectual property rights, the quality and authenticity of creative output, the reliability of data, as well as the risk of reproducing social stereotypes through the unregulated use of AI.

The Minister of Culture, Lina Mendoni, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, in their opening remarks, underlined that PSValueTalks highlight critical themes that lie at the core of government strategies, as they focus on heritage preservation, infrastructure development, the integration with tourism and the strengthening of the creative industries for balanced regional development. It was also noted that culture constitutes an investment in the future and a driver of development. In the new digital era, the challenge is to enhance creativity through AI rather than replace it – something which, of course, requires the establishment of new rules and balances.

Specifically

The first section of the Forum, entitled “New models in the cultural economy”, explored the challenges and opportunities in cultural business models and financing. Among other things, the following were identified:

● Traditional financing (sponsorships, state subsidies) is becoming increasingly precarious. The cultural sector is called upon to innovate in its business models by developing multiple revenue streams and new forms of value creation.
● Supporting those working in culture in adopting new business models is considered imperative, as is the utilisation of skills derived from culture (critical thinking, creativity) to strengthen entrepreneurship overall.
● The key to economic sustainability lies in a high level of artistic curation combined with business synergies, with the aim of functioning as multipliers of social and economic value.
● Impact investing was presented as an interesting example of a “middle ground” between traditional investments and donations.
● Nevertheless, public funding continues to be considered extremely important, as, by consensus, art and culture should be treated as public goods. However, the need to redefine funding policies was highlighted so that they better reflect the particularities of the cultural sector.

From the discussion among speakers in the two panels of the first section, important findings also emerged that require further exploration:

● A lack of sufficiently strong partnerships between the private and public sectors to produce cultural and social capital was identified.
● Limited implementation of alternative financing models in Greece was observed, despite the existence of relevant expertise and innovative ideas.
● It was pointed out that new financing models encounter difficulties when applied to sectors that are not closely connected to the market.

The second section, entitled “Cultural and creative sectors in the age of artificial intelligence”, focused on AI, its applications, the risks involved and the existing legal framework. The key conclusions are summarised as follows:

● AI, particularly within the creative community, generates strong feelings of concern, ambivalence and uncertainty.
● It was characterised as a technology of control, with concerns focusing on the risk of human automation and the concentration of power in the hands of “techno-feudal” actors.
● The main risks are identified as job displacement, the infringement of intellectual property rights, algorithmic bias and the “photocopy phenomenon” (model collapse), whereby AI models are trained on data produced by other AI models, resulting in degraded quality and the production of homogeneous and inaccurate outputs.
● The importance of properly understanding the legal framework was emphasised, as was the significance of the form and degree of human–AI interaction. The use of AI tools could be classified into three levels: a) the production of a “ready-made” output with responsibility attributed to the algorithm; b) the use of AI as an assistant, with substantial human intervention; and c) the development of a proprietary AI model. As human involvement increases, the legal and ethical recognition of the creator is strengthened.
● The need for the formulation of a national strategy was underlined, which would include, indicatively, the development of a Greek large language model (LLM) trained exclusively on Greek data, the creation of data spaces for the Greek language and culture, as well as free access to infrastructure (such as the “Daedalus” supercomputer) for researchers, start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises.

In conclusion

PSValueTalks 2025 highlighted the critical issues concerning the cultural and creative sectors, as well as the cultural economy more broadly, considering developments in Artificial Intelligence.

It was confirmed that creators should orient themselves towards finding new ways to generate financial value from their work. At the same time, both the absence of strong partnerships between the public and private sectors and the limited implementation of successful financing models, particularly in non-commercial sectors, were observed.

A shared acknowledgement was that culture requires both stable public support and meaningful cross-sector collaboration. The active participation of artists at all stages of dialogue and design was considered decisive for shaping fair, effective and human-centred solutions. By general agreement, AI was recognised as an integral dimension of contemporary cultural production. However, particular emphasis was placed on the uncertainty and sense of risk it creates among stakeholders.

Finally, the speakers emphasised the importance of PSValueTalks as a platform for dialogue, as well as its significant contribution to public discourse on the future of the cultural and creative sectors. The aim of the Forum is to function as a catalyst for further research, collaboration and discussion, with the ultimate objective of shaping policies and strategies for the benefit of culture, the economy and society.

The Acropolis Museum continues to invest strategically in its digital transformation, expanding its engagement with audiences both in Greece and internationally. As part of the project “Creation of the Digital Acropolis Museum”, a wide range of applications has been developed, showcasing the multifaceted nature of the exhibits and offering visitors enriched and immersive experiences within the museum environment.

Between 2014 and 2024, PostScriptum implemented and supported the MuseumPlus Classic collection management system, which served as a core tool for the digital documentation and management of the Museum’s collections. A total of 27,755 digital records were migrated into the system, linked to 10,557 objects, including all exhibits presented in the Museum’s galleries.

In 2025, PostScriptum carried out the upgrade to MuseumPlus Cloud and undertook the full customisation of the new system to meet the Organisation’s specialised requirements. The process included the migration and restructuring of data, ensuring consistency, integrity, and interoperability across the system.

Today, MuseumPlus Cloud comprises 33,590 artefacts linked to 48,371 digital files, forming the central hub for the documentation and management of the Museum’s collections. In parallel, a targeted staff training programme was delivered, strengthening the effective use of the system and maximising its capabilities.

MuseumPlus Cloud represents PostScriptum’s contemporary solution for museum collection management. Continuously enriched with new records, it serves as the backbone for organising exhibitions and supporting the production of interactive content, educational applications, games, and publications. At the same time, it enables the export of data to the Acropolis Museum website, providing the public with open access to scientific and research material.

3rd Delphic Festival: A Celebration for Humanity
The world gathers around the World Human Forum’s call to revive the Delphic legacy, 1927–2027

“And on that day, the sound of drums and fifes will drown out the sounds of cannons and guns”

A full house gathered at the V Hotel Delphi on April 10, 2025, for the unveiling of the initiative to relight the flame of the Delphic Festival, an event that was warmly embraced by the local community. The inspiring endeavor was presented by Maria Efthymiou, Professor Emerita at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens; Alexandra Mitsotaki, Executive President and Co-founder of the World Human Forum; Panagiotis Tagalis, Mayor of Delphi; and Kostas Konstantinidis, CEO of PostScriptum. The event was moderated by Christos Carras, Founder and Director of the CCSC. Also present was poet Eleni Sikelianos, the great-granddaughter of Angelos and Eva Sikelianos.

2027 marks the 100th anniversary of the first Delphic Festival – the initiative by Angelos Sikelianos and Eva Palmer that embodied the vision of the Delphic Idea. Their dream was to make Delphi once again a living center of harmony, unity, and cultural renaissance. The World Human Forum initiates and coordinates the re-generation of the Delphic Festival. After all, Delphi was, in 2017, the symbolic and geographical starting point for the creation of the World Human Forum.

“Eight years, three gatherings and following a journey through Delos, Eleusis and Aristotle’s Lyceum, we return to the emblematic land of Apollo, bringing with us the experience and the global network we have built along the way. We aim to bring together diverse forces that break the silos, connect the dots and believe in the value of a global movement for spiritual awakening through art, science, tradition and humanistic values”, stated Alexandra Mitsotaki.

The event was hosted within the framework of the Delphi Economic Forum. The opening remarks were delivered by Symeon G. Tsomokos, Founder and President of the Delphi Economic Forum, who expressed his support for the initiative. Representing Regional Governor Fanis Spanos, Maria-Pagonitsa Aravantinou conveyed the support of the Region of Central Greece.

Watch the panel discussion from the V Hotel at 6:00:00 on Stream 8 here.

Further info

A Journey that Starts in Delphi, but Concerns the Whole Planet

The 3rd Delphic Festival aims to bring together initiatives and individuals from around the globe. “Together, we will work towards finding solutions to the great challenges of our time – climate crisis, inequalities, loneliness, and the crisis of democracy –, we will imagine, and try to create a better world. We will plant collective seeds so that a new narrative for humanity may blossom”, highlighted the President of the World Human Forum.

In the anniversary year of 2027, this meta-Delphic Festival will highlight the legacy of Angelos Sikelianos and Eva Palmer with concerts, performances, symposia, workshops, multidisciplinary events and more. The aim is for these events to be held every three years as a triennial dedicated to art, tradition, science, dialogue and inner development.

The Delphic Idea: A Vision Rooted in Ancient Wisdom

Poet Angelos Sikelianos and his wife Eva Palmer believed that culture could lead to the moral and spiritual elevation of humanity. The Delphic Idea they articulated is based on the concept of global unity. It proposes a return to a deeper connection with our roots, not as nostalgia for the past, but as a foundation for reimagining the future.

Central to this vision are the Delphic Festivals, organised in 1927 and 1930, which brought together ancient drama, music, sports, dance, public participation, and spiritual exploration.

Paraphrasing Eva Palmer, poet Eleni Sikelianos, reflected “And on that day, the sound of drums and fifes will drown out the sounds of cannons and guns”. She remarked further, “That is very clearly what their mission was here in Delphi. There are forces in the world at this moment waging a war against the imagination, the profoundly creative force within us. So, what do we do? We have the opportunity to take up what Eva and Angelos were doing and continue”.

“While it may seem idealistic, it is a goal worth striving for”, declared Maria Efthymiou, having reviewed historical efforts aimed at resolving conflicts around the world. “The people felt that both the initiative and the tradition belonged to them. I believe we will have no trouble regaining support of the local community. It’s a challenge, but if successful, the rewards will be substantial”, said the renowned historian.

The meta-Delphic Festivals as a Driver of Development for the Delphi Region

The initiative was embraced from the very beginning by the Municipality of Delphi. Mayor Panagiotis Tagalis referred to it as a “golden opportunity” to regenerate the Navel of the Earth in the new era, to connect all the forces of the region with a common purpose, and to transform Delphi into a modern city through sustainable and developmental strategies. “Delphi has the potential to become a place of inspiration, dialogue, and cooperation, as well as a driver of development for the entire region, through collaboration and interaction”, he stated.

Kostas Konstantinidis of PostScriptum, a company dedicated to highlighting the developmental potential of culture, emphasized that the Municipality of Delphi provides an ideal setting for the implementation of such an initiative. He highlighted the importance of bringing together diverse forces from the quintuple helix –comprising the public sector, businesses, civil society, and academia– to identify shared goals and achieve them through the integration of science, art, and innovation. Additionally, he stressed that such projects are eligible for funding, as they align with the core principles of the New European Bauhaus.

In a world marked by division, conflict, and crisis, the need for shared values, genuine communication, and the cultivation of the human spirit through art is more urgent than ever. The regeneration of the Delphic Festival as an immersive experience and spiritual proposition seeks to offer meaning, perspective, and hope.
